- Open to horses and ponies 4 years old and over. Conformation and manners will be taken into consideration. Horses/ponies will not be stripped. A special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Adult and Junior Members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Card Competitors must wear a hat to current Safety Standard. The highest placed coloured exhibit ridden by a member aged sixteen or over (who has not already qualified) receives a Special Rosette & qualifies for the Side Saddle Final at the CHAPS Championship Show. Open to any type of exhibit. Riders/owners need not be a member, or their exhibit registered with CHAPS at the time of qualification but in order to compete at the Championships the Rider/owner must be a showing member, and their horse/pony registered with CHAPS before entering the Final. Lead Rein competitors are eligible for this class. Leaders must be correctly dressed.

- open to Adults and Juniors. If entries warrant, an Open Class may be divided into an Adult and a Junior Class at the discretion of the Show. SSA Rosettes and Qualifying Points shall be awarded to Adults & Juniors as two sections: the highest placed Adult & Junior Members will receive SSA rosettes to third place, and Qualifying Points down each line. The highest placed Member under fourteen on 1st January of the current year will receive a rosette. Competitors must wear a hat to current Safety Standard or above.

- Open to horses and ponies four years old and over. Riders will be required to give a short show & may include a small jump maximum 61cm (2ft). The height may be adjusted during the class at the judge’s discretion. The class shall be judged on the show, manners of the horse/pony and its suitability for the rider. Conformation will not be considered. A special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Adult and Junior members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. Hats must be up to current safety standards.

– The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance, but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Adult Member and Junior Member of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. Competitors must wear a hat to current Safety Standard or above.

For a competitor to be eligible to compete at the LIHS Senior Showing Grand Final at the XCELL, ALL ponies/horses MUST meet the current FEI Vaccination Regulations.
NOTE -ONCE A COMPETITOR HAS QUALIFIED FOR LIHS IN THE RIDDEN SECTION, THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO QUALIFY IN THE IN-HAND SECTION AND VICE VERSA.

Three years old and over, to be shown in hand. Foals to be at least three weeks old on show day. Special prize of £5 to the best foal.
Rosettes will be given to the best six foals in the above Class (at the Judge’s discretion)

Free to enter. Hard hats to be worn by all young handlers.
Mare or gelding 4 years old and over, to be led by a handler who has attained their 12th birthday and is 18 years old or under on the show day. A responsible adult must accompany each entrant into the ring. Rosettes to all. No grant for this class.

THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES HEAVY HORSE ASSOCIATION TROPHY to the winner of this class.

Mares and geldings 4 years old and over. Sire or Dam must be a recognised heavy horse breed. Judge will not ride. Pure breds will be judged traditionally and part-breds may be asked to canter in their individual show.

Single Turnout in Harness with 2 wheeled vehicle driven by a lady. Traditional costume to be worn.

THE MAUREEN HAUSER PERPETUAL CHALLENGE TROPHY to the winner of this class.

Mare or gelding, 3 years old and over, to be shown in full harness. To be judged 25% for horse’s condition and cleanliness (not conformation) and 75% for harness.
THE FURZEDOWN PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP (20) to the best exhibit in the above class.
Special rosette and prize of £25 for the Best Shod Horse in this class.

Open to Single, Pair or Team, to a suitable agricultural vehicle.

Open to mares 4 years old and over, or broodmares 5 years old and over with own foal at foot.
Foals must be 6 weeks old or over on day of show and born in the current year. Foals to be judged first.
Best rosette and prize of £5 to best foal.
Rosettes will be given to the best six foals in Class 94 (at the judge’s discretion).

THE BRIGADIER JOHN SLEEMAN PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP (50) for the best Donkey Mare or Filly from class 94 and the highest placed filly from class 92 are eligible.

No entire male donkey allowed. Children 8 years old or under (minimum 3 years) may be led.
When a child competes on a leading rein the donkey must be led by a competent adult (18 years or over) and the leading rein must be attached to the noseband.
