Any horse which has qualified as a Grade A Show Jumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1st January in the current year is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter classes. All Riders, Owners and Producers must be Members of the British Show Horse Association, The Showing Register or Sport Horse Breeding GB. Horses must be registered with the British Show Horse Association, The Showing Register or Sport Horse Breeding GB.

This class will be judged in two parts. Part One (Jumping) will be judged first, without a jump-off. All clear rounds and any other horses the judges may require will go forward to the next part. A rider can ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but then must select only one horse to take forward into the ride and conformation section if so required (no change of rider is allowed).

All stallions and colts 2 years old or over must hold a Stallion Licence. For Dales, Dartmoor & Exmoor stallions this rule is extended to three years old or over. Welsh Pony & Cob stallions four years old and over must be licensed. For Shetlands, to enter a stallion in ANY class (in-hand or performance) at an affiliated show, entire males aged 4 years old and over must have an “S” number and have been successfully through either the SPS-BS Stallion assessment prior to 2006 or the current SPS-BS Voluntary Veterinary Examination.
All competing Highland pony stallions (In Hand, Ridden, WHP etc) aged 4 years and over must be licensed with the Highland Pony Society.

The Working Show Horse qualifying classes may be entered on a day ticket, but appropriate membership and horse registration must be applied for within 14 days of the qualifier in order to confirm qualification.
Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at the 1st January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any Working Show Horse class.
A Rider may ride up to two Horses in the jumping phase but must then select one Horse to take through to the Ride and Conformation phases (if required). No change of Rider is allowed.
Exhibitors will jump in catalogue order. All exhibitors must declare to the collecting ring steward before the class begins.
Open ONLY to Hacks, Cobs, Maxi Cobs and Riding Horses, mare or gelding four years old and over, exceeding 148cms. This class is NOT open to Hunters, ie those horses registered and competing as a hunter or working hunter with BSHA, Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain or The Showing Register for the current season.
